Index commands

Selecting Index in the Open image file dialog opens up a thumbnail index window displaying all the images in the current directory. These thumbnails will be recreated every time you do this - they will not be stored on disk (so it will not eat up any disk space) - unless you yourself indicate that they should be saved in a cache-file (for faster loading of the index).

Clicking the right mouse button in an index window brings up a context menu with the following commands:

View imageOpens the selected image icon (same as left clicking on the 'button').
View slideshowView the selected slideshow.
Edit slideshowLaunch NotePad to edit the selected slideshow.
OpenOpen the file with any associated application (for non-image files).
Spawn new...Open the 'Open image file' dialog. [N, F4]

File
Copy file...
Copy the current image file on disk.
Move file...
Move the current image file on disk.
Rename file...
Rename the selected file or folder.
Delete file...
Deletes the selected file.
Erase file...
Overwrite & rename the file with random data several times before deleting it.

Save index as bitmap...
Saves a .bmp file with the index icons (i.e. an image overview map image file).

Recurse sub-directoriesFind and display icons for images in all sub-directories.

View
Directories
Show directories in the index listing.
Non-image files
Show all files types in the index listing.

Name (1 line)
Write out file names as 1 line of text.
Name (2 lines)
Write out file names as 2 lines of text.
Name (3 lines)
Write out file names as 3 lines of text.
Name (4 lines)
Write out file names as 4 lines of text.
Comment
Write out comment or keyword meta data.

Resolutions
Write out image sizes.

Sort iconsSubmenu that let you sort the icons by name, image size, file size or file date.

Sort icons by name.

Sort icons by the full file path.

Sort icons by file time stamp.

Icon cache
Recreate
Re-reads the directory and recreated the thumbnail icons. [F5]
Save cache
Creates a disk cache files containing all the currently displayed icons. [C]
Update cache
Recreates the disk cache file so that it is up-to date with all the current icons. [C]
Remove cache
Deletes the disk cache file. [X]

Slideshow
Create slideshow script...
Creates and runs slideshow script for all images in the directory. [S]
Run in fullscreen mode
Select whether to run slideshow scripts in full-screen or in windowed mode.

OptionsOpens a dialog with index window and other program settings. [F6]
For help, press [?] and then click on the control you want help with.
HelpOpens this help text. [F1]
CloseCloses the index window. [Esc, a-X]
